Ways of Learning–Sensing and Intuition
Sunday March 10th from 10:30 to 12.00 pm at the Unitarian Fellowship of Northwest Toronto, 55 St. Phillips Road.
Lifelong learning has become a way of life. In a rapidly changing world if we’re not able to upgrade, adapt and relearn we’re left behind. So understanding the dynamics of learning is an important skill, since no two people learn in exactly the same fashion. People with a preference for Sensing rely on their five senses. They prefer doing things in a step-by-step systematic way and enjoy jobs or activities that are repetitive. A Sensing type personality could stay in the same job for 30 years and be completely fulfilled since they constantly hone their talents. They work in long steady bursts of energy. Grounded in the present, they prefer tradition, the tried and true, and are not comfortable with change. Your dentist or accountant may be a Sensing Type. Intuitive type personalities are just the opposite. They learn intuitively relying on their sixth sense and seem to pull information out of thin air! They despise routine and enjoy changing their jobs or lives frequently. Intuitive types are visionaries, future oriented, and may have great difficulty staying in the present! They work in shorter bursts of energy and need frequent breaks to recharge. Writers and artists are often Intuitive Types. We’ll do a short questionnaire to determine if you are a Sensing or Intuitive type, then examine the often humorous differences in these two ways of learning.
